FODP was formed in September 2009 by 3 local mums who wanted to join a friends of the park group to help improve their local park and at the same time make new friends and help promote a sense of community .
As there was no friends group for Davyhulme Park we got together with the help of the Council (via the Parks and Development Officer) and Action for Sustainable Living (AFSL) to create one/

Our main aims are to raise funds to improve the park through conservation, environmental and restoration projects . To promote sport, health, recreational activities and therefore the wellbeing of local residents of all ages. We aim to involve local people by seeking out their views and holding regular meetings and events.

In our first year we have formed a committee and opened a bank account , held a litterpick , a craft day , held public meetings ,been successful in securing funding ,and attended training courses at VCAT (voluntary Community Action Trafford) .Please visit our other pages to find out more
