The Friends of Davyhulme Park (FODP) are a fairly new group and we welcome new members to help us in improving the park, planning activities and fundraising. FODP was formed in September 2009 by 3 local mums who wanted to join a group to help improve their local park and at the same time make new friends and help promote a sense of community . Our main aims are to raise funds to improve the park through conservation, environmental and restoration projects . To promote sport, health, recreational activities and therefore the wellbeing of local residents of all ages. We aim to involve local people by seeking out their views and holding regular meetings and events. In our first few years we formed a committee, held a litterpick, a craft day, held public meetings, have been successful in securing funding ,and attended training courses at VCAT (Voluntary Community Action Trafford). 2012 saw our first big event centred around St George's Day, and our aim is to make this event an annual occurrence following the success of 2012.
